Co-founder and Chairman of the Board
As chairman of the board for Keller Williams Realty, Gary Keller helps provide strategic direction for the company at large.
Gary graduated from Baylor University in 1979 with a degree in marketing and real estate. He helped five families buy a home his first month in the business, and by age 26 was the vice president of expansion for Austin's then-largest real estate company. He resigned from the position, and three and a half years later – before his 30th birthday – his new firm was the largest in town. He soon took his company and his philosophy of "people helping people" nationally, then internationally.
In addition to his leadership role with the company, Gary and his writing team have penned several national bestsellers: The Millionaire Real Estate Agent, The Millionaire Real Estate Investor, SHIFT: How Top Real Estate Agents Tackle Tough Times and The ONE Thing: The Surprisingly Simple Truth Behind Extraordinary Results. Based on his leadership qualities and contributions to the real
estate industry, he was named one of the 100 Most Influential Real Estate Leaders by Inman News, was voted one of the five "Most Admired People" by REAL Trends magazine, was named Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year for Central Texas and the second-most influential person in the real estate industry by REALTOR® Magazine. He was also a finalist for Inc. magazine's Entrepreneur of the Year award and acknowledged as a distinguished alumnus by both the high school and college he attended.
Gary's greatest passion is teaching, and he can regularly be found in the classroom educating high school and college students, as well as real estate and business entrepreneurs from all over the world. His other passions include fly fishing, hunting, snow skiing, golf, music, reading, movies, sports and spending as much time as possible with his family and friends.
