Keller Williams comes out on top

Congratulations! The Wall Street Journal / LORE Top 400* survey results were just released and once again Keller Williams Realty illustrated why we are continuing to outpace the industry. The report breaks down categories and rankings by individual agents and teams.

In 2009, Keller Williams Realty had:

  • Six additional associates ranked among the top 50 agents by transaction sides.
  • 1,048 percent more transactions from the year before compared to an average increase of 31 percent for Century 21, Coldwell Banker, Prudential and REMAX combined.
Among the top 50 teams for total sides:
  • Keller Williams ranked second with 11 teams.
  • Those 11 teams had an impressive increase of 25 percent in transaction sides from the year before.
  • Keller Williams was the only company that posted an increase for two years in a row.

*The list is based on a survey of independently verified submissions to determine the top real estate professionals in the United States. REAL Trends states that it is the only independent study of its kind.

'Tiny' tools, Big impact

Two shortcuts to maximize your social media strategy:

Tiny URL is an internet service where you can create a shorter URL link. Instead of your link reading (http://www.realestatejournal.com/buysell/markettrends/20080404-lueck.html,) it can read http://tiny.cc/jXYOj.

  • This makes attaching links to your email signatures, Twitter updates and Facebook posts easier and allows you to track how many people click on your link. Explore the Tiny URL page to learn more at http://www.tiny.cc/

Bit.ly, a similar service, takes analytics one step further.

  • You can create many URLs and track them all under your “history.” This is a great tool for someone who does a lot of information sharing via the internet. And, you can share your bit.ly links directly to Twitter by connecting your account. Create your username and start monitoring your history on bit.ly at http://bit.ly/ .

If a picture tells a thousand words, what does yours say about you?

Your profile photo is the first thing people see on social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Active Rain and Plaxo. Send the right message by first making sure you have a photo, and if you don't, get one! Second, be sure your profile photo matches your other social media profiles, so that people can easily find you.

When choosing a photo, it is best to use one that you would want a potential client or recruit to see. Because remember, that photo is their first impression of you!
