Instructional Designer

Overview:
The KWU Coursewriter develops and manages effective and engaging learning materials for real estate associates, for classroom and online delivery, on topics to include (but not limited to): sales, customer service, leadership, business skills.

Description:
The ideal candidate is a stellar writer and instructional designer. He or she expresses concepts clearly and logically, develops materials that are engaging, compelling, visual, and within company “voice¿.   He or she is able to take vast amounts of information and ideas and synthesize it into models, strategies and exercises that promote learning. He or she understands how adult learners learn, and develops materials that are relevant, with clear objectives, and experiential learning exercises and tools. He or she approaches course development to meet the needs of both learners and the instructors. Also, he or she can successfully execute within a collaborative writing and review process. This person is also an effective researcher, both in conducting literature reviews and interviewing subject matter experts. Finally, the Coursewriter can manage his or her own projects with stakeholders, can conduct needs assessments, communicate effectively with stakeholders, identify rollout strategies and manage deadlines and major deliverables.

Description of Duties:
  • Research, develop and revise KWU courses, for classroom and online delivery, to include instructor and student materials, visual aids, exercises, supplemental learning aids and tools.
  • Manage course development process to include: coordinating and completing review process with stakeholders and SME’s, team collaboration reviews, pilot classes, course rollouts, including training instructors.
  • Maintain all courses within subject matter specialization, including: evaluating effectiveness, benchmarking, researching and consulting with subject matter experts, maintaining project files, developing and maintaining knowledge base and expertise in subject area.

    Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3-5 years experience in writing and instructional design
  • Superior writing skills
  • Superior instructional design skills
  • Superior design skills using Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
  • Strong research skills
  • Considerable experience developing materials in alternate learning mediums (e.g. video, webcasts, podcasts, mobile learning, self-paced online learning) is preferred
  • Real estate experience a plus
  • Training delivery experience a plus
  • - Proficiency in Outlook, Excel
