I am excited to say that I have been investing in real estate since my husband and I bought our first duplex in 1998. We renovated both units and suddenly became landlords. We shortly (and much by accident) clued in to leveraging - which enabled us to invest in a variety of single and multifamily residential units over the years. We now have 45 units and are always looking for the next investment. We just built and moved into our "green" house on the hill - geothermal heat, recycled materials, lots of cool stuff!
I received bachelors degrees in geology and classical literature in 1988 and later a masters degree in environmental science. I worked in the environmental field as a hazardous waste specialist for more than 20 years. During which time, real estate was simply a way to start building an investment portfolio. I decided to get a real estate license, in part as a change of pace from environmental consulting, but also because I wanted to help others invest in real estate. Now I enjoy working with investors, first time home buyers, move-up buyers, and retirees.
When I am not doing real estate, I value my time with my husband and girls. My favorite sport is tennis and I am very grateful to the Last Chance Tennis Center for the opportunity to play indoors during our long Montana winters.
