After 21 years as the Vice President of a company who owned shopping centers, I have stepped into the residential real estate market. I was responsible for the West Coast portfolio which consisted of approximately 4,000,000 square feet of shopping centers. My job description as vice president included negotiating leases, purchase and sale agreements, vendor contracts, construction contracts, preparation of annual operating budgets, understanding the market trade areas and overseeing the property management staff.
Prior to becoming the vice president I created the property management department and then became a project director where I was responsible for governmental approvals of shopping centers, creating the construction budgets and oversaw the construction of the centers.
