I grew up in Leavenworth County, Kansas, and graduated from Tonganoxie High School. After earning degrees in Speech, Theatre and English Education as well as a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre from Emporia State University, and doing my student teaching at a small private school outside of London, England, I taught high school for 14 years. During that time, I took a year off to earn a Master of Arts degree from Arizona State University, finishing the 3 semester program in 2 with a 4.0 GPA. My thesis on the History of Theatre in Kansas City from 1856 to 1871 is in the Kansas City Missouri Public Library which I finished after I went back to teaching at Blue Valley High School.
In 2001, I retired from full time teaching and earned my real estate license. Knowing how difficult it is to find qualified substitutes, I was hired to substitute in the Gardner-Edgerton school district.
Although I am not able to do as much substituting as I was able to do in 2001 and 2002, I still enjoy teaching and have transfered that talent to my real estate career. I enjoy working with people, to analyzing the market and making sure that my clients understand their choices either as sellers or buyers. I believe that my clients need to make their own decisions, but that my job is to give them the information that they need to make informed, intelligent decisions concerning the largest investment that ordinary people make.
Purchasing a home is an investment, but it is also the center of life for an individual or family. It is in the balance of the logical and emotional that the happiest homes are built.
From 1st time buyers to empty nesters, I enjoy working with both buyers and sellers.
