It seems like just yesterday when my husband and I decided to move our family from the Midwest to Arizona - sight unseen. And we never looked back!
I grew up in Chicago and loved all the city had to offer. I went to nursing school and completed my bachelorís degree. I chose nursing because I had the opportunity to help people with their lives. As a Registered Nurse, I worked in hospitals in Illinois, Virginia, Alabama, Michigan and Arizona.
After many years, I took a different path and ventured into the world of HMOs working for CIGNA - where I was exposed to the business side of healthcare, running a customer service team, developing new products, and then marketing them to our employer groups. In addition, I was honored to serve on the National Board of Patient Representatives for the American Hospital Association. Then, I went to work for the State of Arizona - Department of Insurance running the department where we analyzed businesses who wanted to conduct utilization for insurance companies in the state.
All the while in Arizona, I fell in love with everything it had to offer. I felt connected to Arizona in a way I'd never felt anyplace else. The sunsets are breathtaking, the desert is unique and beautiful, and while the city is not the first place when people think of the Arts, Phoenix has quite a vibrant arts community - from the Symphony, to the Botanical Gardens, Children's Museum, and theater. And the restaurants... whether you want southwestern, authentic Mexican, casual or fine dining, we have it all.
I was intrigued by those flocking to the Phoenix metro area - especially in winter. After living in Chicago most of my life, I didn't blame them for wanting to get out of the cold! As new people would show up, I'd wonder: Did you find the right neighborhood? The right community? The right school? The right place of worship? The right location that suits your lifestyle?
And that's why I got into real estate. Just like in nursing, I wanted to help people with their lives. Only this time, it was more about finding the right location that suits their lifestyle. I have a passion for ensuring my clients love where they live! But more than that, I want to ensure they're connected to the right communities - whether it's for a job, the arts, schools, a place of worship. I help them make the connections.
The Phoenix metro area has so much to offer, but like any city, different areas provide different opportunities for different people. It's my personal mission to make sure you're in the right area and right home for what suits you.
And when your life changes, and the community and home you live in no longer serves you, that's when we put your house on the market and go back to the drawing board and figure out your plan for the next set of years.
So when you're thinking of making a move - whether it's buying or selling, let's talk. Let's figure out the right move for your lifestyle. Kay Wendell - Your Arizona Connection.
